Hi All,

Adding on top of my previous email. The KBA with the firmware source code is
online now. Please visit EZ-USB(tm) FX3 Explorer kit as 16-channel 100 MHz
logic analyzer with sigrok PulseView -
KBA233652<https://community.cypress.com/t5/Knowledge-Base-Articles/EZ-USB-FX3-Explorer-kit-as-16-channel-100-MHz-logic-analyzer/ta-p/283993>.
We are also ready to ship few kit samples to anyone who is interested to try
this out.

Also, it would be great if someone could review the
pull-request<https://github.com/sigrokproject/libsigrok/pull/148> and merge
them to the mainline, as it would help a lot of people to try this out without
the need to build an installer themselves.

Thanks
Ashwin

hardware)

Hi all,

The pull-request (https://github.com/sigrokproject/libsigrok/pull/148) with
support for FX3 devices is open for sometime now. We have made a Knowledge Base
Article (KBA) explaining how to use a FX3 kit as a logic analyser. I am
attaching the draft of this article here. In short, the additions that I have
made to the sigrok repo are also tested and verified. The release of the KBA is
waiting on the pull-request getting merged-in to the mainline, so that users
can directly use the latest installer for their use.

Do let me know if there's anything additional that I have to do/test/edit to
expedite this process.

Thanks,
Ashwin

Subject: libsigrok: pull-request#148 (adding support for cypress fx3 hardware)

Hi all,

I had submitted a pull-request
(https://github.com/sigrokproject/libsigrok/pull/148) to libsigrok project to
add support for FX3 devices. FX3 comes from the same family of devices as the
popular FX2 series of chips, but supports higher sampling frequencies (100 MHz)
and supports USB 3.0. Addition of this device will help developers to use any
FX3 device as a USB 3.0 logic analyser.

In the added cypress-fx3 driver, modifications are done on top of the fx2lafw
code to add support for higher sampling frequencies (upto 100 MHz) and also
added support for firmware download to FX3. I have done basic testing of
capture using sigrok-cli as well as pulseview.

It would be really great if someone can review and merge-in the changes to the
mainline. Also, any feedbacks are much welcome.

Thanks
Ashwin
