IRIS ALERT: IRIS Media Files DO NOT play in QuickTime 7.3.1 (Latest update, released this week)
We Recommend that you DO NOT UPDATE QUICKTIME TO 7.3.1 for IRIS Web site compatibility. We recently discovered that the latest update of Apple, Inc.'s QuickTime 7.3.1 does not support Flash Tracks in QuickTime and will not play movies containing Flash elements. Because the movies on the IRIS Web site use Flash tracks, visitors running the latest version of QuickTime 7.3.1 will not be able to view them, but will instead see only a black image with no sound. We are working hard on a solution and expect to have our media files working with all versions of QuickTime before the New Year. In the meantime, if you have not already installed the latest version of QuickTime (Mac and Windows) and you rely on the IRIS Web site and its materials, please DO NOT update until we have had adequate time to replace all of our media files. We apologize for any inconvenience this my cause. We understand how important our Web site and its information may be to you. If you have any questions or concerns about this situation, please feel free to contact us. Sincerely, IRIS Center Tech Support The IRIS Center Vanderbilt University Peabody College, Box 160 Vanderbilt University Nashville, TN 37203 615-343-5610 615-343-5611 (fax) http://iris.peabody.vanderbilt.edu You are receiving this message as a member of the IRIS Center's emailing list.
