Participants will receive Power Point slides to view during the seminar and will use a toll free call in number for the audio portion. Participants will have opportunities to ask questions of Dr. Dieker during the presentation. About Dr. Dieker: Dr. Lisa Dieker is an Associate Professor in the Department of Child, Family and Community Sciences at the University of Central Florida. Her passion is conducting research and projects that are based in "real" classrooms. She recently was selected for the prestigious position of University of Central Florida Teaching and Learning Academy Fellow; she is implementing a project focused on creating web-based streamed videos that impact learning in math, science and reading. Dr. Dieker along with a colleague in English Education were selected to receive a Faculty Innovation Grant from the Florida Department of Education to infuse general education content into the special education program. Prior to UCF, Dr. Dieker served for 9 years on the faculty at the University of Wisconsin where she was the co-director of a federally funded, state-funded and foundation funded project the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee/Milwaukee Public Schools Special Education Internship Program that has received over 2 million dollars in financial support. During a recent sabbatical Dr. Dieker spent the semester serving as a substitute teacher in Milwaukee Public Schools. She is a national speaker on inclusion giving several keynote addresses and professional development sessions each year. She has written numerous articles in the areas of collaboration, diversity and co-teaching.
