Dear IRIS Family,

As part of the ongoing evaluation of our IRIS materials and services, we field 
test each of our new STAR Legacy Modules. This process consists of our inviting 
preservice faculty or professional development providers to use a module in one 
of their courses or trainings, provide feedback to the IRIS Center about that 
module via a questionnaire, distribute a similar questionnaire to students or 
trainees, and return them to the IRIS Center upon completion. An honorarium of 
$250 is paid to those faculty or PD providers who participate.

Currently, we are expanding our pool of field testers, with a particular 
interest in adding PD providers. Below is a list of new and revised modules 
that we would like to field test:

Collaborating with Families
CSR: A Reading Comprehension Strategy
PALS: A Reading Strategy for Grades K-1
PALS: A Reading Strategy for Grades 2-6
PALS: A Reading Strategy for High School
The Pre-Referral Process: Procedures for Supporting Students with Academic and 
Behavioral Concerns
Cultural and Linguistic Differences: What Teachers Should Know
Using Learning Strategies: Instruction to Enhance Student Learning

If you are interested in field testing any of these modules in the current or 
an upcoming academic term, please email Janice Brown

However, please note the following constraints in regard to field testing:

To be eligible for field testing, there should be at least 25 students enrolled 
in an undergraduate course or 10 graduate students enrolled in a course.

There should be at least 20 participants in a professional development setting.

In the event that several respondents are interested in field testing the same 
module, the IRIS Center will make the final determination as to who will 
complete the field test (that is, you may not always be able to field test your 
first choice).

Faculty should provide us a copy of their syllabus along with their field 
testing surveys.

PD providers should provide us a description of how they used the module in 
their training.

After we hear from you, we will let you know if we need you to field test the 
module you selected and send you a copy of the questionnaire forms via email.

If you are interested in field testing but are unable to do so at this time, 
please contact Janice so that she can add your name to our field tester pool 
and include you in future requests.
