Here you have the base for a solution using Sikuli's Java Screen class
in a Sikuli script:

import org.sikuli.script.Screen as JScr
s = JScr()
bufImg = s.capture().getImage()

bufImg contains a Java buffered image of the screenshot.

Have a look at http://sikuli.org/doc/java-x/org/sikuli/script/Screen.html for 
the possible parameters of capture()
(this is another capture() as the one on the Python/Jython API level!)
