Beth Griffin gave more information on the question: I think I can answer my own question now. When I extracted the Lib dir from sikuli-script.jar, I was following the instructions about the minimum necessary to make NetBeans work. __future__.py is in sikuli-script.jar\Lib\, but not sikuli-script\Lib.
