rc3: currently not.
But I think typing speed is only relevant, if you have longer text
strings.
use paste() instead, that is faster in this cases.
I always use paste() for text and type only for functional keys (see faq
933).
What sometimes is really needed is a wait before and/or after typing to
give time to the GUI.
