This is not so much a question as an idea that I've been exploring the last few months. Sikuli has an awesome gui matching algo, which is useful in simple gui matching but when you get into more complicated situations.. It's pretty lame. For Sikuli to be really precise in what's it's matching some higher level logic needs to be built into it. Basically take what Regular Expressions are for string matching and translate that into image matching. You can create a sikuli expression that return a match if matches all the logic in the expression.
