of course it is ;-)
But compared to the beta state of Sikuli, the features of the App class are
somehow alpha state ;-) so we have to live with it for now.
For some features it might be of value to write your own helper functions or
wrapper classes, that hide this differences to some extent. but this is always
a decision based on effort and outcome for yourself.
As with many things in life :-)

web apps: Selenium
Windows: AutoIt
Mac: AppleScript (might be integrated with Sikuli via osascript)
