j posted a new comment: @RaiMan Yesterday I created a script with the IDE on linux, checked it into a subversion repository, checked it out on a windows machine and ran it. It had the letters "äüöß" in it, and produced a "wrong encoding"-exception if # -*- coding: utf-8 -*- is not added to the file.
