RaiMan proposed the following answer:
has nothing to do with your installed Python, because Sikuli uses the
bundled Jython (Java based Python interpreter), which is on Python
language level 2.5.
The socket implementation might be system dependent in Jython, so it
does not work on your Linux.
This is a Jython problem and cannot be solved here.
