The problem is, that for some reason, the instantiation of LinuxUtil.class
crashes:
[error] Can't create OS Util: org.sikuli.script.LinuxUtil
This is the interface, that translates methods like openApp() to the
usage of native systemspecific features.
You should try, to use the App class directly:
public static void main(String[] args) {
Screen mScreen = new Screen();
App browser = "/home/sikulliTestImages/skype";
// Opening the .exe file for the specified desktop application
App.open("/home/sikulliTestImages/skype");
..
