RaiMan proposed the following answer:
... because after the click() the while exists() is again executed and
does not find img1 anymore, but waits 20 secs for it.
While exists(img1,20):
If exists(img1):
Click(img2)
break # step out of the while loop here
Click (exists(img3,100))
Click (exists(img4,100))
