Thanks for the answer.
I did have a quick look at the code before I posted but my coding skills are
not the best and I didn't manage to solve the issue.
I have, however, a work round which seems to work (though not pretty) which
alleviates my short term issue.
Does this need to be a bug report?
(I will have another look when I get some more time).
