Question #250067 on Sikuli changed:

Status: Answered => Solved
David Cortesi confirmed that the question is solved:
OK I understand now, you are saying that it is not possible from within
the Sikuli IDE, to capture target png images of the menu bar or top-
level menus. I should capture the target images using for example Mac OS
shift-command-4, or the Grab app; save it, and reference it from the
script? I will read up on this in the manual.
Before I have had good success capturing window contents of my app from
inside the IDE, and this was very natural and easy. I can continue to do
this for the contents of the app's normal windows.
In this case, part of the test is to verify the exact contents of a
menu. Under some conditions an option should be grayed-out, other times
not, and the contents of a sub-menu should change with conditions. So
all this means clicking certain things and verifying that the menu looks
a certain way, then later, it looks another way.
