RaiMan proposed the following answer:
Apparently a problem in the Jython 2.5 subprocess module.
This version of Sikuli is no longer supported with such system/interpreter
specific problems.
Either use an external Jython 2.7 and run your script with it or try
with SikuliX version 1.1.0 (http://sikulix.com)
