RaiMan proposed the following answer:
Has nothing to do with SikuliX as such, but with Python/Jython.
SikuliX version 1.1.1 (recommended) uses Jython 2.7
previous versions use Jython 2.5.
You should run the scripts from commandline to assure a fresh Jython
interpreter environment.
