Yes 2.0.5 works on macOS 12.x (Monterey) with latest versions of Java 8,
11 and 17.
About Tesseract:
You need a valid libtesseract.dylib (version 4.1.1) in /usr/local/lib (at least
as a symlink).
The easiest way to get this is via hombrew (take care to select version 4.1.1,
since as default currently you get Tesseract 5, which does not work with 2.0.5)
Today I again successfully verified all this.
