Hi there, The startup I'm running is growing pretty quickly [WhooHoo..!!] & I want to bring in some control over the various processes & projects that we've got running.
Previously I've liked using tools like MS Project & ThoughtWorks Mingle. Mingle is not really the right tool as this business is service based rather than software. I thought about MS Project Team Server, but I've heard some horror stories about how complex the thing is install & run. We only have 1/2 an IT resource [..me..] & its not a great use of my time to be tooling around with MS Server admin [it makes me swear a lot & my hair go grayer]. I think my real problem is that we have both marketing & production processes that are highly dependent & some of the steps are months long. If there is a problem with the production process, we don't want marketing dollars going out when we have nothing to sell.. Conversely if there is a problem with the marketing processes we don't want to be holding excess stock. Another issue is ensuring marketing & tech/product are talking about same thing can be a bit of a challenge. We also now have staff in various parts of the world & ensuring the right people get the right information at the right time is getting harder.
