When your back's against the wall, it can help to focus on what you've
GOT (eg designing & planning under your belt, 'positive reactions from
operators & experienced professionals', day jobs).
And to think creatively about how you can BUILD ON THESE...........
rather than focusing on what you haven't got (eg the last 20%
finished, 'spare cash' to finish your prototype) etc.
Is one of the 'operators' you've spoken to a potential co-development
partner who could fund what you need funded in return for some
exclusivity and perhaps a stake?
Could one of the professionals you've spoken to introduce you to such
a partner?
Have you thought about applying for a COMET grant?
(There's plenty of tips in SBA discussions about COMET).

At a low point a couple of years ago, when I remembered to think this
way (ie to do a mental audit of "what I had").........
One thing I had was a potential first customer who'd said 'no' to the
quote I'd given him some months before.
Just focusing on this led to me reframing it for myself as:
he'd said 'no' to the FIRST (and only) quote I'd put to him.

This led to the obvious question: what if I put another quote to
him??
As it turned out, my circumstances had changed since the earlier
exchange, and I was able to go back to him with a more attractive
proposal.
Which he accepted.
It sounds bleeding obvious........what anyone with an ounce of
business development acumen or even common sense would do.
But it's not always obvious.
If you consciously look for the positive in what you already have, and
get creative with it.......
you stand the best chance of keeping things alive, because it will be
based on reality (rather than just wishful thinking).
In a wider sense, Malcolm Gladwell in The Outliers suggests the
ability to turn setbacks into positives is a vital part of the mindset
of successful people.
I recommend it!
