OK OK... I've been lurking ;-) And since I've met so many people from this list over the past couple of days (at tech23) I figured I should do the intro thing.
My name is Stephen Young (Steve) and I'm a software/web-focused serial entrepreneur. The last few years has been all code and architecture (hence the lurking) but I'm now able to start talking about what we're doing. Trying not to turn this into a blurb, what we've built is a graph DBMS - an app designed to manage complex data structures. Facebook-scale graphs on a single box. We've taken that and overlayed it with "semantic" data. It's a tech that lets us do some pretty special things - including providing a quantum improvement over the incumbent "key word" indexing and search paradigm. I know, it's a big claim. But you'll be able to check out how well we're doing in a few weeks - at http://wik.me. It's a consumer web play that ultimately aims to collect all "public" data in a single, "meaning-searchable" structure. </blurb> I'm currently living in Newcastle, but I'm going do my level best to get to a few more of the events I hear about on this list.
