The strenght (and vulnerability) of Europe is the array of
languages ... anything pan-European has to be by definition
multilingual and that means the interfaces tend to be more cross-
culture and thus hopefully more commonality in interface. The downside
of course is the fragmented nature which Garad in his book Guns, Germs
and Steel pointed out was the impetus for the rampart competition in
blowing up things in Middle Ages
