To echo the sentiments of others - there are IP protections out there if you wish to use them and you should seek independent advice on that, however my personal opinion is that you are more likely to gain by sharing your ideas.
To give an indication of what has happened in past Big Ideas - - Some request that their idea is to be treated as a private disclosure and all participants are expected to respect that. - Some have had great ideas, built a team around it from Big Ideas and apportioned equity in the idea by sweat (ownership proportional to the amount of hours and expertise you contributed to making the idea a reality). - Some have brought their ideas hoping someone else would make it happen and in doing so have released their idea into the wild.
