While Jahnavi has given a comprehensive list, I'd specifically pick Janki Nair's The Promise of a Metropolis, Meera Iyer's Discovering Bengaluru, and Fazlul Hasan's Bangalore Through the Centuries (thanks to fellow Silklister Naresh Narasimhan for bringing out a sparkling new edition of this book) as personal favourites.
And if you can read Kannada, do check out Bengaloorina Itihaasa by Ba Na Sundar Rao.
