My EOS 350D sucks at autofocus too, especially with longer zooms. In fact, with the Sigma 70-300, it sometimes just gives up. Manual focus is much faster, except that I am never sure if I have focussed properly. The dioptre correction gives up way before it can compensate for my eyesight! Ram
