When I was at Sun they used to push RFID at their "executive briefing
centers" as a cheaper form of inventory control (cheaper than paying
people to do inventory). Sounds like your wart removal pads are
tagged for that purpose (unless they contain some really exotic
ingredient ;-)?).

I bought a $10 pack of wart removal pads yesterday and was shocked to
find a theft prevention thinggy inside. I held up, what looked like a
sticker, to the light and I could see what looked like the circuitry
of a printed circuit board inside. Wart removal pads can hardly be hot
items on the streets or Chinatown.
