I've been online for a week or so, Jessie. Guess I can't hide any longer. All right, then.
I'm a scientist at The Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, CA. I'm trying to study the SARS virus, a virus that is strangely unwilling to part with its secrets. It is - in a sense - reticent. I play the piano and the guitar. I play in my (rather loud) church band, but when I play alone, I have a laid back style that is lyrical and soothing. I love listening to jazz, but I'm struggling to learn how to play it. Jazz is mysterious and - in a sense - reticent. I'm 33 and single. Don't snicker - it's no fault of mine. Thus far, the female of the species has apparently not yet learned to appreciate my dashing good looks and sterling qualities. If she has, and appreciation has stopped short of action, then one must conclude that she has merely been - in a sense - reticent. I read a lot, but discriminately. PG Wodehouse, Ravi Zacharias, Philip Yancey, Donald Miller are among my favorites. I'm partial to humor. I've got a great memory for the written word, but the worst memory for faces, names, events and particularly, movies. I love writing, my favorite medium being email. That doesn't mean I write much. My cyber presence, as in real life, is just a bit quiet and shy. I'm - in a sense - reticent. Jerry
