I'm not sure if this will help you but...

I use a Canon 300D and am quite happy with it. Not having used a Nikon in recent times, I can't say I won't be happier with a D70 :)

Hi,
I am a big fan of Nikon having had a 808/8008 SLR previously and the
digital coolpix 950/990. Purchased D70 last year and have used in
extreme conditions and continuing as a very happy user.
I love the use of available light on the Nikon and often push photos
to 1600 speed and can still blow up the image to a decent size.
I am biased with Nikon gear given I have all Nikon lenses, Very Happy
with the D70 and the results have been amazing most of the time on the
automatic settings - so I dont take credit for my photos. for example
I took a taxi ride in Mumbai and just shot images out of the window -
the speed was fast enough for moving images and the results were
incredible.
I dont read manuals and found the menus very intuitative.
Hope this help

Measure with a micrometer. Mark with a chalk. Cut with an axe!
