on that note, here are some gems from BEK, my favorite New Yorker cartoonist
"I just want to go home, crawl into bed, and do some more work."
"I'm looking for a position where I can slowly lose sight of what I originally set out to do with my life, with benefits."
the second one i intend to blow up to gigantic proportions and stick in up on all my walls, and be blessed by its ironic gaze day in and day out :-)

Well, I think of my job as a purely economic transaction - I contribute
and my org pays me for it and I have no feelings or any deep attachment
to my job beyond that. I don't work weekends or go the "extra mile".
But I hope it it is a healthy contract where I actually put in 40 hours
of work per week for the money I get paid and I don't vanish one day
without telling anyone what I am up to and make a habit of being flaky.
You don't have to love your job to do it right.
