Actuall, I was looking for some background on the controversy. Nowhere in the article does one hear the reporter's voice of what the issue is about and why. Instead of the reporter's voice, all we have is quotes from people. I would like to read the reasons the Dalit give for them being kept away.
A lot of groups, Indian and non Indian have traditionally come down heavily on the "forward castes" for discrimination, completely ignoring the fact that middle caste groups are often vicious in their discrimination against dalits.
<snip> Believe me, I know the how caste has been politicized in India. Thaths -- "Grand Funk Railroad paved the way for Jefferson airplane, which cleared the way for Jefferson starship.
