This was intended as an admin-related post, but mutated along the way.
The original intent: I wanted to post a gentle reminder to several of the newer members that silk is NOT confined to folks from Bangalore, or even India - though some of the recent posts might indicate otherwise to the casual observer. We have folks here from all five continents. Some of the exceedingly Bangalore-specific stuff might not make sense without context to much (perhaps even most) of the list. It might be a good idea to keep that in mind.
Like I said, the above reminder was the original intent of this post. And it still is, just not the sole one.
I just recollected the interesting geographic spread of silk. This has been discussed before [1], but might be worthwhile to resurrect the discussion. It was most instructive for me that the first email addresses I saw from .yu and .cn were on the silk subscriber list.
