No single highlight - it's just a great place. I have actually lived for short periods of upto a week in Edinburgh more than half a dozen times and am a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. That perhaps gives it a special place in my heart. I have friends there - some of whom visit Bangalore every few years. One is a TA Colonel who gets us to watch the Tattoo at the Castle. Edinburgh is steeped in history, and is geographically close to places that help me get steeped in whisky - the only form of ethanol I enjoy. This year one of the places I visited was Rosslyn chapel :). The place is truly remarkable - but I bet the ambience of that beautiful place is going to be destroyed forever very soon. Interesting that you broke your ribs in Pune. I grew up in Pune and did my schooling there. shiv
