Agree that the terrorism in india has largely been ignored by the west, probably becuase it never came
home to them....but this is true for every terrorism problem in every country in the world.

but, what is a pro-active reaction.... starting more wars and more bloodshed...?

recently on occassion of  the independence day anniversaries i saw  various indian  blogs with  listings
of 'greatest indians ever'  ....most of it included politicians, scientists, cricket players, actors etc...i hardly
saw anybody  mention a  param-vir chakra  winner  (the highest military award  for bravery) or a famous
general . does anybody even remember five names from these ranks?

my dad served in the army for 30 years,  he saw many conflicts and many insurgencies, most of the time
he was away from his family, yet he did his job extremely well, but at the end of it  he was just very tired.
the last time i checked, the military had a severe shortage of officers, simply because the monetary
and social benefits are so few that no one wants to come.

when no one is willing to  fight the war, i find it just silly when people talk of starting pro-active wars....
