Yes I do believe the US has scared the crap out of terrorists more than it gets credit for. The UK is a slightly different ballgame (for reasons I will not go into now) - but they are seasoned anti-terror operators. Besides - I have left out from my posts the one factor that sets the "West" apart from India - that is good governance (in the former). I have reasons to believe that even that is a factor in ensuring that the West reacts more quickly, robustly and effectively to terror and that it is needless and idle speculation to say that there was no threat to airliners. shiv shiv
