The draft is currently with the Drafting Committee, headed by Soli Sorabjee. It is bound to be put up for comments from the public, once the Government decides to start preparing for introducing in the Parliament. So, starting a wiki on the Police Act draft could be a start to get a large number of people involved, online and off-line. The media could do with a well-researched resource site. NGOs working on governance, women and child welfare could be interested too.But please tell me, how can civil society get involved at this stage? Nandkumar |
