No, approximately *none* of the startups around are looking solely at the India market. I would be very glad to be proved wrong on this.

You're assuming that "getting 10k-100k people to trial you" is a desirable state of affairs, which again implies that you have a set of assumptions about what kind of startups these might be. :)

That said, you're probably right that it's not that easy. Not impossible, though. I think we easily had 10k users from India before the "official" launch of unimobile.com, in 1999.
