Silk sets "Reply-To" to the list, which solves two problems:
1. It prevents people from accidentally taking a conversation private
and denying the rest of the world the pleasure of their wisdom.
2. In most mail clients, the only way to send a reply to the list is
to "reply to all", which means that people on the list get two
   copies, which can be annoying.
But it creates two more:
1. It causes people to accidentally make a conversation public every
once in a while, which can range from embarrassing to actionable.
2. If a list poster has a "reply-to" of their own (e.g. From:
   <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Reply-To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>) it gets
   lost.

Usually the second pair of problems is considered more severe than the
first pair, so most mailing lists (that I use, anyway) are set up to
not do this.
