They're all made from sugarcane molasses.
IIRC when Brazil rolled out the ethanol fuel program they deliberately
made it undrinkable. I can't help wondering what will happen to the
local liquor industry if India starts pumping pure (drinkable) ethanol
for vehicles and drunks.
