Until this moment, my favourite medical term was "idiopathic". It still is, but it has just been joined by "iatrogenic".

both quite real terms, but what makes them your favorites?

Favourites in an ironic sense, in that they are both quite often used to mask ignorance or culpability.

idiopathic = "I have no idea what this is"
iatrogenic = "Oops, I fscked up."
