At least call centre employees are consciously made to sound like someone from another country, as opposed to being a representative of his/her own... TBH, I tend to agree that the article could be renamed "Miss [insert country]... NOT representative of her country", beauty pageants are not representative, fullstop. I don't disgree with your point - this is what some people want and good for them... I just think the analogy is not quite appropriate.
