not really, there is a way to 'register' at the embassy , and send a
postal ballot (sent well in advance...).
at least thats what one of the assistant commissioners told me....
however, the practical aspect of it is that the high commission has to
notify the election commision / civic officials in writing in your
home town.... which the high commission should do, but dont want to do
:)

i thought that (until last year) india didn't allow citizens living
abroad to vote.
