It's sulfur free, and if it's dry and finely-dispersed modern burners could do it quite nicely. But the interesting part is the oil content http://www.oilgae.com/algae/oil/yield/yield.html Plant oil in general + 10% methanol, and a catalyst (lye would do) gives you biodiesel by umesterung. There's an organism which will directly give you diesel (no bio) ersatz by hydrogenation. Getting this out is a problem, though a far lesser one than harvesting. What is even more interesting is use of microalgae in photoreactors for closed-loop ecosystems.
