i have sometimes had the police officials in immigration (the ones with the metal detectors) ask me for some money (for "chai" ...) but it always sounded like a waiter requesting a tip... the other thing i notice with customs and immigration whenever i travel in a suit or a decent looking jacket i get treated in a completely different way than when i travel in a t-shirt....
