No, you didn't.

The point you made is geek vs sheeple, early adopters vs clueless
newbies. Most of us on silk are early adopters - some even have a /. uid
less than mine. :-)

This article postulates that social circumstances push you into SNSs
occupied by people of your class. It's interesting because 'merkins do
not like talking about class.

Speaking of which, I found this in Wikipedia the other day:
