Isn't that just your opinion? I don't see a reason to belittle a person
or his opinions because you do not have a high opinion of that person,
especially since you do not know him personally/professionally.
No. If a person claiming to be a scientist announces that they are
motivated by a desire to "trash someone elses's research" then they
are a bad scientist - aka "an idiot." While that may be a perfectly
fine motivation for a pamphleteer, propagandist, or politician it's
contemptible in a scientist. At the very least you can expect such a
person to distort the facts, and leave out observations that do not
fit their agenda. In other words you cannot take anything they say at
face value.

I am not questioning your "nationalism". Would you have believed it if
that statement was made by someone else?
This line of argument is purely ad hominem. It makes no difference to
the truth or falseness of his arguments or reasoning, and serves only
to poison the discussion.
