of my personal favs. Its the epitome of geek sentimental.
reminds me of a story I read a long time ago -- some people have
perfect pitch; the protagonist here had perfect phase. At the end of
the day, he'd literally have to "unwind" and undo any extra left or
right turns he'd picked up during the day or he wouldn't be able to
get to sleep. (I don't think it was ever explained if it was just
phase, or if the area enclosed by the extra loops had to be balanced)
