I had suggested a similar concept to a friend over 18 months ago in the US. It had to do with calculating the avg speed of vehicles on a highway based on triangulation to find out if the highway is congested. My friend did not think it was feasible to implement in the US. I am not sure many phone companies in the US would do what Airtel did in the case of BTIS.in
