Oh sorry. My bad. Why don't you set FF as your default browser and install this (IE View): https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/35 and mark your office sites as requiring to be loaded by IE (in the IE View filter). This add on will load an actual instance of IE in that tab. Should work.
