After many years I find myself needing to exchange data with a computer in a hospital that I visit. I am normally paranoid about this sort of stuff - and I believe my paranoia is justified. One try with a pen drive convinced me that the only way to port my data to any other computer is via CD (or via email) and the only way I will accept data from someone is via email. This behavior is mostly OK for my needs. Pen drive sharing is a disaster waiting to happen. You're probably lucky if it's only your pen drive that goes kaput. It's worse if it works and gives your machine the kiss of death. shiv
