I don't think too highly of their sense of hygiene, I found a finger nail once in the food. However, perhaps it's an aberration and irrespective of my personal preferences I keep getting pulled there by family, a large section of whom seem to think of it as a second home when they come visiting from foreign lands. Which it is I guess in a way, I've been told that Woodlands now stands on what used to be the home of my mother's family a few generations back. Some even found it cute to get married there in the footsteps of my (great?) grand mother who was the last to be married in the ancestral house. For a really good no-frills Tamil lunch I'd recommend the restaurant in Hotel Maris (next to the Chola Sheraton). Cheeni
